The First in
The team of assoc. prof. Atanas Shterev lays the foundations for executing of the most modern techniques for treatment of infertility in Bulgaria not only by implementing of modern approaches and methods but with education of many young doctors and biologists in executing of Assisted Reproductive Techniques for treatment the infertility.
Today, more than two decades of experience in in vitro fertilization and treatment of infertility the team of ob/gyn specialists, embryologists and obstetricians continues successfully to implements and executes unique and new for Bulgaria methods which increase the chance of the sterile couples to conceive their own child. Ob/Gyn Specialists
Undoubtedly our basic and most valuable capital of the hospital is the team of professionals(obstetrician and gynecology specialists and embryologists) who suit the highest requirements of European Union regarding their theoretical and practical training. Each of the specialists is invited to participate in the team of the hospital after long and thoroughly estimation of their vocational erudition and personal qualities after long term training under the guidance of Assoc. Professor A. Shterev.
The efforts of the Management of the hospital for vocational training of the specialists are directed to insurance of possibilities for continuous medical education, specialty training courses at leading hospitals and centers abroad, interchange of vocational experience and erudition through participation in international meetings, visitations of foreign specialists to the hospital and etc.
DR. TANYA TIMEVA, OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
MEDICAL DIRECTOR of Ob/Gyn “DR. SHTEREV
Dr. Tania Timeva is a young and highly qualified specialist in the area of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive medicine. She had graduated at Medical University in the city of Sofia whereupon she specialized in obstetrics and gynecology at the University Ob/Gyn Hospital “Maternity hospital”. Dr. Timeva passed a regular doctoral course at the same hospital, and in 2007 year she got a doctor’s degree.
DR. DANIELA SAVOVAOBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST, MEDICAL DIRECTOR of MEDICAL CENTRE “REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH”
Dr. Savova was born in 1964 in the town of Veliko Turnovo.In 1990 she graduated medicine at the Medical Academy in Sofia city.Dr. Savova made a speciality of “Obstetrics and Gynecology” at the University hospital DUB “Maternity hospital”, Sofia city. Dr. Savova has a master’s degree in “Health management”, obtained at “Prof. Doc. Asen Zlatarov” University, Burgas city. She has been working as a clinical intern at University Ob/Gyn Hospital “Maternity hospital”.Dr. Savova has been a member of Ass. Prof. Shterev’s team as an obstetrician and gynecologist from 2000. At the present moment she is a medical director of MC “Reproductive health” and works as an obstetrician and gynecologist at the medical centre and Ob/Gyn “Dr.Shterev”.
DR. PETIA ANDREEVA OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Andreeva graduated medicine and passed a specialty training course in obstetrics and gynecology at Medical Academy, Sofia city. She began her professional career at University Ob/Gyn Hospital “Maternity hospital” in Sofia as at the same time she was working on the project “Doctors without borders”, Switzerland, directed to reproductive health and sexually transmitted infections.Dr. Andreeva defend a thesis during 2003 and gained the scientific degree “Doctor”.
DR. GINKA GANEVA, OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Ganeva graduates medicine and passed a specialty training course in obstetrics and gynecology at the University Ob/Gyn hospital “Maternity hospital” in Sofia city. She began her career in the gynecological ward of Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment in the town of Kostenets.
DR. MARIYAN ALEKSANDROV, OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Aleksandrov graduated Medical Academy, Sofia city, during 1990. He has been specializing “Obstetrics and Gynecology” at Ob/Gyn University hospital “Maternity hospital” until 1995. His profetional career as a doctor started at Ob/Gyn Ward in the town of Lom.
DR. MARIA YUNAKOVA, OBSTERICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Yunakova has graduated medicine and passed a specialty training course in obstetrics and gynecology at Medical University, city of Sofia. She starts her professional career at University Ob/Gyn Hospital “Maternity hospital” in Sofia.During 2006 year she got a second master’s degree in “Economy management” and “Health management”.

Dr. Konovalova has graduated medicine at Medical Academy, Sofia city.She made a speciality of obstetrician and gynecology at University Ob/Gyn Hospital “Maternity hospital”. Dr. Konovalova has a master’s degree in health management from “Prof. A.Zlatarov” university in Burgas.
DR. URII BUCHVAROVSURGEON – UROLOGIST AND ANDROLOGIST
Dr. Urii Atanasov Buchvarov was born in 1964 in the town of Jambol. In 1992 he graduated at Medical University in Sofia city. Right after that he has started his speciality training course in urology at Aleksandrovska hospital. From 1997 until 2004 he specialized urology and andrology in Belgium and France.He has obtained specialty training courses in abdominal, thoracic and vascular surgery.
DR. TATYANA ARABADJI, INTERN OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Arabadji is a young and skilled specialist in the team of obstericians in Ob/Gyn “Dr. Shterev”.. She graduated medicine during 2007 at Medical Academy in Sofia city. Dr. Arabadji has been working in the hospital as intern doctor since 2005. She makes constant endeavors to endow the patients with happiness and hope by using her skills acquired during her studying at Sofia university “St. Kliment Ohridski” where she graduated in psychology.

Д-р Чавеева завършва средно образование в ПМГ в гр. Кюстендил. Кандидатства и е приета в Медицински Университет, гр. София, от където се дипломира през 2007г. В периода 2006-2007г посещава кръжок по АГ, воден от доц. А. Щерев и решава да остане да се обучава и работи в екипа на лекарите от САГБАЛ "Д-р Щерев".

DR. NADYA MAGUNSKA, INTERN OBSTETRICIAN and GYNECOLOGIST
Dr. Nadya Magunska graduated at Medical Academy, Sofia city, during 2007 with the top honors “Golden Hippocrates”. The distinction has gave her the opportunity to choose specialty training course and to be accepted without entrance examination. At the moment she is intern obstetrician and gynecologist at “St. Anna” university hospital and works as intern obstetrician and gynecologist at Ob/Gyn “Dr. Shterev” under the guidance of Dr. Ginka Ganeva.
Embryologists
DIMITAR BAROV, HEAD EMBRYOLOGIST
Dimitar Barov graduated at Faculty of Biology, “St. Kliment Ohridski” University, with a master’s degree in biochemistry and human and animal physiology. He had worked at Bulgarian Academy of Science for a certain time. Later, he worked at Andrology Ward of Medical Academy in Sofia where he examined closely the complexity of male infertility and the mechanisms of it’s treatment.
DR. TANYA MILACHICH, BIOLOGIST - EMBRYOLOGIST
Tania Milachich is a biologist – embryologist in the Ob/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” from 2000. During May 2010 she obtained the educational and scientific degree “Doctor” of Embryology. The thesis of her dissertation is “Evaluation of the informative value of genetic and morphological criteria for preimplantation genetic diagnosis”.
LUBOSLAVA PETKOVA, BIOLOGIST – EMBRYOLOGIST
PETIA IVANOVA, BIOLOGIST – EMBRYOLOGIST
Petia Ivanova has been part of the team of OB/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” since October 2006. During 1998 she started off specializing in “Molecular Biology” at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree during 2002. During 2004 year she defended her diploma thesis on “Metal complex inhibitors of virus herpes simplex, the infection of the cellular cultures”.
BORIANA BANDREVA, BIOLOGIST – EMBRYOLOGIST
Boriana Bandreva has been part of the team in Ob/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” since 2006.
She was accepted in the Faculty of Biology, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” during 1997. Boriana Bandreva defended her master’s degree in 2002 year in the department of “Cytology and Biology of the development”, Faculty of Biology. Her work there was to conduct a research of the action of inhalational anesthetic Halothane upon liver, cancer cellular lines A549.
IRENA ANTONOVA, BIOLOGIST – EMBRYOLOGIST
Irena Antonova has been working as an embryologist at Ob/Gyn “Dr. Shterev” since September 2005.
During 2001 year she graduated at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” with master’s degree in “Genetics and Microbiology”. She executes methods for analysis of spermatozoa as well as other manipulations such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) with partner sperm or with donor sperm and in vitro fertilization.
DR. IVAN BOCHEV, EMBRIOLOGYST
Dr. Bochev has been part of team of Ob/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” since 2010. During the same year he defended a dissertation thesis on “Comparative studies on the imunomodulatory activity of human mesenchymal stem cells, isolated of different sources” and obtained a doctor’s degree in Immunology.

IVAYLO ZLATOLINOV, BIOLOGIST
Ivaylo Zlatolinov has been part of the team of Ob/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” from April 2009.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He graduated ат the same university with a master’s degree in Microbiology.

Iva Koleva graduated at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with a bachelor’s degree in “Biology and Chemistry”.She defended a master’s thesis on “Analysis of the effect of hormonе contraception, anabolic steroids and dexsamethasone on reproductive system” at Dеpartment of “Reproductive Biotechnologies and Cryobiology of Gametes”, IBIR – BAS (Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction).
Psychologist
ANI KOCEVA, MASTER’S DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY Ani Koceva has been working with couples with reproductive problems since 2004. She is part of the team of Medical Centre “Reproductive Health” from 2006. Through the application of appropriate psychological methods, tests and psychotherapeutic techniques she helps the patients of OB/Gyn Hospital “Dr. Shterev” and MC “Reproductive Health” in settlement of psychological problems attendant the treatment of infertility. As a psychologist Ani Koceva participates in preparation of the lectures used in the School for Future Parents “We create joy” and in the ART School.
